The bible is the master blueprint of what Godly leadership looks like, how it functions and where it comes from. While we believe there are different attributes of leadership that can be learnt and strengthened, we firstly choose to believe that leadership is a grace given by God to those He alone chooses. Leadership grace is apportioned in measure and while we are all chosen to administrate various parts of His Kingdom, only one can be the set man/woman over a tribe or cluster of people as illustrated clearly throughout the word of God. This can be defined in part by theocratic leadership and is what we call “Kingdom order” – the way God always intended his Kingdom to function.

New Nation Church has a set man, called and appointed by God to lead not only in his country of origin, but also to be an Apostle to the nations. You can learn more about this on his webpage. New Nation has also engaged in the timeless principle of “Fathers and Son’s” and as such, we recognise Howie and Christine Baker as our Spiritual father and mother. New Nation Church has different layers of leadership common to most churches. Howie Baker is the representative of God and chief administrator in the New Nation household and is supported directly by the set woman (Ps Christine Baker), the Governing elders, Senior pastors of NNC Network churches, and various ministry leaders. On an international scale, Apostle Howie is supported directly by his spiritual father – Apostle Thamo Naidoo and corporately through the Judah Kingdom Alliance.

Profiles

Howie was saved when he was 17 years old, where he met and married the love of his life Christine Baker. He has been in full time ministry for the past 19 years, and senior leader of New Nation Church (previously Soul Depot) for 10 years. Hailing from Gisborne and of Ngati Porou decent, Howie has a clear mandate to reach Maori, although his ministry is definitely not defined or limited to the Maori culture. And therefore  New Nation is growing into a multicultural House.

Howie has a powerful prophetic and apostolic grace, and in 2007 was ordained by Apostle Thamo Naidoo into the office of an Apostle. Howie’s character is evident through the way he lives for God and is reflected in his people. When you look past the title you will see a man who is not afraid to enjoy life, and has a sense of humour that defies religious stereotypes. He is a man after God’s own heart and like the rest of us, aspires to reflect and magnify all facets of Christ in the earth with exactness. 

Christine was brought up in a Christian household as a Pastors daughter until she met and married Howie. Today her parents Maihi and Shirley serve their son in law and daughter as governing elders and pastors in New Nation Church. Christine and Howie have 4 children of their own, Joshua, Reuben, Ahiri and Hauiti who are all active in the House of God and role-models for their generation. Christine is well established as the spiritual mother of the House, and is recognised globally as a woman of God who is an accurate representation of this grace. As well as this, Christine has a strong pastoral heart and was ordained as a Pastor in 2002. As the primary teaching grace in our Household, Christine is passionate about studying the Word of God, discerning God's heart, and accurately translating/teaching on  the current season and revelation given by the Apostle to the sons. Christine is also the primary rock (support system) for her husband, Her Spiritual Father and her Apostle. She is an amazing representation of son, wife, and mother (biologically and spiritually), and her love for all things Kingdom is unconditional.
